Miller's Way Project

Website for holistic wellness centre.

UI design & web development

March - May 2020

A holistic haven hidden in West London with treatments and classes ranging from yoga and tai chi, to massage and post/pre-natal classes.

My role was designing the interface of the website as well as organising the booking system, setting up member accounts and liaising with the client to produce relevant content.

Unfortunately the client has fiddled with the design since my completion in 2021, so the current website isn’t fully representative of my work.

Please see the images here for the original design.

Branding as well as the structure of the site had already been determined by the client, so the role was just down to design. I matched the brief of the practice by using neutral colour tones, calming imagery and smooth animations on the homepage to create the tranquillity they offer through their services.

There was a lot of depth to the site, multiple page profiles for each member of staff, plenty of information for many ailments and pains, and how their services can help to fix these problems as well as ways in which the individual can achieve this without necessarily spending money. This required a lot of pages designed but continuity was key for all these and the final result was a platform that ran between its pages smoothly, both in terms of the visual and experiential aspects.

Although there was a defined user journey at the beginning of the project, there were many reshuffles of this original plan by the client. This developed my client communication skills massively; allowing for workarounds, going above and beyond, changing design aspects quickly, standing up for design decisions when necessary, and most importantly staying professional were all parts of this process.

After the many changes, both sides were happy with the result.
